We had an excellent turnout to last night's Vinyl Friday, We had the J.A. Michell Gyro Dek spinning last night as well as a customer's Thorens TD124 idler turntable sitting in a custom slate plinth and a hand fashioned arm board. A Hadcock GH228 unipivot tone arm had a Music Maker cartridge hanging on the end. Sounded lovely and smooth.
One of our regulars brought along Prince's Purple Rain. We cleaned it a then promptly sat down for a listen. Such a talent! He will be missed.
A few local suds and chips. Some free record cleaning and a sit back to listen to some great tunes through our reference set up.
On the playlist last night was Lucinda Williams new album, Some Gregory Isaacs, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Keith Richards new one, Billie Holiday's Songs for Distingue Lovers, Miles Davis Kind of Blue on 180 gram 45 RPM 12 inch and of course Prince among others.
